Mother’s reply:

How dare you text a bad press message like that! This is going public you know.

People are going to assume I am ‘too posh to push’, and that’s an unfair slur on me, and mothers-to-be like me generally. 

I delivered your brother naturally, but it took 14 agonising hours, and I don’t want to go through that again. Besides, I am no spring chicken anymore. I think these are very acceptable reasons.

While I am getting some press here, I can tell you that recent studies show that the vast majority of women would prefer to have a vaginal birth if they could.

I look forward to meeting you on the outside. In the meantime, please leave that phone alone.

PS: I didn’t realise kids are being born with phones in their hands these days, but I’m not surprised. I was expecting a silver spoon in your mouth.
